Bancroft celebrates Arbor Day

The city of Bancroft celebrated Arbor Day on May 19th. 

The North Gem 1st and 2nd grade classes helped plant 2 flowering purple crabapple trees; purchased with grant money received from the Arbor Day Foundation. They also planted a lot of flowers grown by the high school students at North Gem School. We taught the students the importance of planting and caring for trees and plants. The students were given educational packets that included fun activities and color pages. The students were invited to return one of their color pages for display at City Hall. Treats and drinks were also provided by the city.
