Cleanup Days Calendar
The County landfill will be holding its annual free landfill day in early June, from the 1st to the 6th. As a result, cleanup days in area towns have been coordinated in concurrence or thereabouts. The following is the most recent information from Bancroft, Grace, and Soda Springs.
Bancroft Spring Cleanup starts May 18
The City of Bancroft is hosting its annual Spring Cleanup event starting this week! From May 18 through May 28, the city is offering residents a convenient and free way to dispose of common yard and household waste. A dumpster will be available at 114 E. Center Street, located behind the city shop, where community members can drop off yard debris such as leaves, grass, and branches at no cost. This service is intended to help residents maintain clean and attractive properties while reducing waste buildup throughout the city.
Participants should be aware of regulations set by the Caribou County Landfill. Each household may dispose of up to 10 tires, provided they are 20 inches or smaller, and all tires must be stacked neatly. Agricultural tires and tracks are strictly prohibited, with violations resulting in fines ranging from $310 to $900. Additionally, construction materials from demolition or building projects are not allowed in the dumpsters. Bagged household trash is permitted, but hazardous or harmful materials are strictly forbidden. Prohibited items include paint, asbestos, chemical cleaners, gasoline containers, refrigerators, air conditioning units, and any appliances containing Freon.
The dumpster area will be monitored by video surveillance due to some rare issues that have occurred in the past. The city emphasizes that failure to follow the rules may result in fines and could lead to restrictions or bans on future use of free disposal services. Residents are also reminded that dumping in alleyways, sidewalks, or streets is not allowed under any circumstances.
For those who may miss the cleanup event, the county landfill will offer additional free dump days from June 1 through June 6, providing another opportunity for proper waste disposal.
Grace
City of Grace cleanup days will correspond with the free landfill time, from June 1st to June 5th, 2026. During this week, residents will have access to free large garbage cans on a daily basis, and the city will assist with hauling away large items when needed. However, the landfill may still charge fees depending on the type of materials being disposed of.
Burning will be allowed during the clean-up period, but only with a burn permit obtained from City Hall, and there is a limit of five permits issued per day. Certain materials are prohibited from being burned, including garbage, dead animals, tires, plastics, roofing materials, petroleum products, treated lumber, trade waste, insulated wire, hazardous or pathogenic waste, and any items that produce heavy smoke or foul odors.
The City of Grace will offer additional disposal support through the IDAWY Landfill, which will allow free dumping during the same week and permit disposal of up to 10 tires per address. Residents can contact City Hall at (208) 425-3533 to schedule pickups or request more information.
