Upcoming Events in Bancroft
It’s the end of the school year across Caribou County, and that means that in addition to Track Districts, Finals, and Graduation, Bancroft students will also be taking part in two more end of year events—the “Little Bang Town” musical performance on May 13, and the Drama performance of “Next Victim, Please,” which runs Tuesday May 5, Wednesday May 6, and Saturday May 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the High School Auditorium.
“Little Bang Town” will be held inside the high school this year, due to the equipment setup involved.
The performance features members of Hailey Hatch’s music classes, and the instruments, songs, and year-to-year approach are largely driven by student interests. According to Hailey, this year “has a real 80s vibe” with keyboards and electronic instruments in the mix. The concert is scheduled for 6:00 pm next Wednesday.
Bancroft's "Little Bang Town" music-class based performance is set for May 13. This picture, from last year's event, indicates how popular the class band is among students at North Gem.
“Next Victim, Please” is a “tongue in cheek murder mystery” which “captures comedy in its finest form.” While presenting a solid mystery plot, the play focuses heavily on one-liners and pratfalls to add laughs to all the murderousness.
It all happens when rich, old man Murdock is about to announce his last will and testament to his greedy family, at which point the stuff hits the proverbial fan, bringing in the inimitable Detective Swift.
Cast members and crew include John Roberts, Kymberli Jensen, Bradnon Lee, Sophia Odell, Madalyn Barnes, Bailey Perkins, Jaxyn Welker, Sadie Daniels, Zoey Wilson, Anna Rose, Mariah O’Brien, Jack Curtis, Kailin Jenkins, Landon Hayes, Ian Moody, Haydyn Frandsen, and Conner Moody.
Make sure that if you missed the performances at the beginning of the week, you make it to the final show on Saturday!
