District 8 HS Rodeo Results
This year's District 8 High School competitors.
Grace, Idaho
District 8 Rodeo was held in Grace over the weekend, and Caribou County celebrated its seniors. Chase Smith, Bodee Smith, and Josey Rasmussen took to the arena.
In part, the senior introductions went as follows:

Bodee Ryan Smith, son of Ryan and Sara Smith, is a dedicated high school rodeo athlete who competes with skill and determination in reined cow horse, cutting, and team roping. Known for his strong work ethic, calm mindset under pressure, and commitment to improvement, Bodee continues to grow as a competitor while striving to perform at a high level in every event.
He is deeply grateful for the strong support system behind him, including Uncle Kyle Hannan, Wyatt, Craig Wilker, and his grandparents. He also especially thanks his dad for the hundreds of hours spent working with and training his horses, shaping both his horsemanship and his success in the arena.
Josey Rasmussen is the daughter of Billy and Stacey Rasmussen. She graduated from Soda Springs High School in December and plans to attend college to become a Registered Nurse.
Josey has grown up on a ranch working with animals which led to her passion for rodeo.
Her favorite rodeo memories will always be the drives to rodeos listening to her Dad’s favorite old rock songs. And before every run her Dad always tells her “Let’s go win some money!!” Rodeo has taught her that winning or losing isn’t what truly matters, it’s the memories you make getting there.
She would like to thank her Loveridge family, the Solomon’s, the Steadman’s, Jacalyn Austin, the Thompsons, and Jared Arave for the countless hours they have spent helping her improve inside and outside of the arena. These people don’t have to push calves and hold goats but they always choose to jump in to help and she can’t thank them enough.
Most importantly she thanks her parents. They have been there for her in all the good runs and especially the bad ones.”
Chase Smith is the son of Andrea and Courtney Smith, and he lives in Grace. As he says,
‘One of my favorite high school rodeo memories has been all the time spent competing and traveling with friends, making memories both in and out of the arena. It’s something I’ll always look back on as a highlight of my high school days.
I would like to thank my parents for their constant support, as well as my family, friends, and everyone in the rodeo community who has helped me along the way.’
