Highway 30/2nd South Update

May 14, 2026 10:07AM ● By Mayor Paul Gritton, Soda Springs

I was contacted last week by the Idaho Department of Transportation who provided a bit of an update which I wanted to relay.

Soda Springs will likely see traffic control placement for construction possibly beginning on Monday April 27th. On Wednesday the 29th it is predicted initial construction work could start. Director of City Services Squires has contacted those property owners affected regarding their sewer service line replacement. Those affected by the sewer service line replacement issue are west of the Main Street & 2nd South/Hwy 30 intersection.

As construction work progresses over the coming weeks, I will do my best to make sure needed updates are communicated. If anyone has questions regarding the project, contact Director Squires at Soda Springs City Hall, 208-547-2600.

A section of South 2nd East will very soon see construction activity as well. This work involves a water line from near 2nd South going north on S 2nd East, under the railroad tracks and near Hooper Ave. Affected businesses are the UPS distribution center, Dave's Tackle and Laundromat, The Liquor Store. Director Squires has contacted those affected.
