A Look At The Links

Last week the Cardinals and Grizzlies faced off with one another for the first time this season.  Both schools traveled to Aberdeen for a three team meet.

In the boys competition all the golfers put forth a good effort but in the end it was the depth and experience from the Soda Springs Cardinals that won the day.  As a team the Cardinals shot 341.  The Cardinals were led by the two Simmons who shot 81 and 83 respectively.  The less experienced Grizzlies struggled keeping their team score just under 400 at 396.  Edwards led the way for Grace shooting an 86 while the rest of the team were over 100.

The girls game was much closer.  The Lady Grizzlies and Lady Cardinals played a very tight match.  In the end an excellent performance by Mansfield from Grace handed the win to the Lady Grizzlies.  Mansfield's impressive score of 69 led Grace to a team score of 362 just edging out Soda Springs that finished with a team score of 370.  The Lady Cardinals best golfer on the day was Parker with an 81.  The way both of these teams are playing I expect to see several more great battles between them before we get to districts later in the season.

With neither team showing any scheduled meets this week they will get in some extra practice time and look to improve as they move forward in the season.
