Cindy Harris Cartwright
Cindy “Brown” also known as Cindy Harris Cartwright returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 11, 2026. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
She was born on May 31st, 1958, in Dugway, Utah. Cindy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tom Cartwright, five children Ryan Torgesen, Amber Torgesen, Brooke (Marc) Torgesen Gilchrist, Holly (Dustan) Torgesen Brown, and Traci (Nik) Torgesen McDonald. Nineteen grandchildren, their spouses and/or significant others. Cindy was preceeded in death by her parents Doyle and Camille Harris and her brother Gary Harris.
Cindy attended Utah State University where she met her former spouse, Bradley Torgesen. From there they moved to Soda Springs, Idaho. She dedicated her life to family, farming, and community. She was a successful business owner of Cindy’s Day Care for 25+ years. She helped raise and shape the lives of several generations of children in Caribou County. Her love and devotion were acknowledged by many over the years through graduation and wedding announcements.
Shortly after retiring she met and married Thomas B. Cartwright in Pocatello, Idaho on August 19th, 2009. They spent many happy years together traveling and watching grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She maintained loving connections until her dying day with all of her and Tom’s family.
With Tom, she found her most joy spending summers in Soda Springs, Idaho and winters in Mesquite, Nevada, where one of her favorite things was being known as
“Tom’s wife!”
Mom, there will never be a day when you are not truly missed. With all our love.
The funeral was held at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center, February 17th , 2026.
In lieu of flowers, Cindy kindly requested donations be made to the Soda Springs Public Library in her memory.
