Large Crowds Enjoy Two Nights Of PRCA Rodeo’s

Rodeo fans were able to see several high ranking cowboys during the PRCA rodeo last week.
Last year the Caribou County Fair Board took a big risk by bringing back the PRCA rodeo and moving the rodeo nights from Thursday and Friday to Tuesday and Wednesday. The reason for the change to the days was made so that the pro rodeo athletes would not have to pick and choose which rodeo’s in the region they would perform at on the first weekend of August. By moving our local rodeo to earlier in the week it gave the athletes and the stock contractors an extra rodeo with very little travel involved. After just its second year with this new schedule the risk seems to be paying off. With events taking place in the arena every night of the fair week the two rodeo nights once again have blown away the rest of the nights in terms of ticket sales. When the PRCA returned to the Caribou County Fair a year ago there was a substantial increase in numbers of tickets sold and this year’s totals have shown to just outdo last year. Not only have patrons been thrilled with the return of the pro rodeo but with the change in nights several of the biggest names in the sport have found their way to the Caribou County Fair. A few huge stars participated in this year’s rodeo. Josh Frost was the 2024 world champion bull rider. Unfortunately Frost was unable to stay on his bull for the full eight seconds Tuesday night in Grace but thrilled the crowd nevertheless. Stetson Wright won the saddle bronc competition last week and currently sits in first place in the all around world standings. Popular with many of the young cowgirls in attendance, Amberley Snyder raced through the barrels on Tuesday night as well. Snyder was paralyzed from the waist down in 2010 in a car accident. Snyder did not let her accident slow her down as she continued to ride and perform at a top level and even had a movie made about her story. Snyder took a brief few moments to meet with the Caribou County Queen royalty as well as other local young girls who look up to her. Snyder was the fastest barrel racer on Tuesday night but finished outside the top three after Wednesday night’s
performances.
To say the very least the rodeos were a smashing success and will no doubt return again next season. If you missed out this year make sure you make plans to attend next year so you don’t miss out on a good time and a chance to see some superstars of the sport.
