Picture from the Past
Whenever you feel like things never change, here is a pair of pictures that might change your mind. The older of the two is from a 1975 edition of the Caribou County Sun, and the accompanying text reads: “New Trees Planted by Grace Library” Several new tress have been planted in the vicinity of the Grace Library, as part of a beautification program for this area. These trees include a gift from V. LaVar Taylor, which is a blue spuce planted by him; and several other trees that were purchased by memorial funds; and one from Douglas Webb of Preston, who gave a pine tree. Petunias and other plants and shrubs also add beauty to the Library grounds.” Mrs. Joyce Fowler is depicted standing by one of the newly planted trees outside the library. The newer picture is of the current Grace Librarian Callie Hamp, from the same location, as near as Callie, Sue Hardy, Janiece Painter, and I could figure. At 50 years, the trees show no sign of stopping!
