Thirkill awarded Physical Activity grant from Blue Cross of Idaho

Senator Mark Harris presents Principal Rod Worthington with a check from Blue Cross of Idaho. Harris participated in the Steps for Schools program to qualify for the grant.

Thirkill Elementary thanks Senator Mark Harris for designating them to receive the Steps for Schools award sponsored by the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation of Health. During the month of February, legislators and other elected officials walk with a goal of achieving an average of 5,000 or 10,000 steps per day to earn funds for a school of their choice. This year they had 67 elected officials complete the competition to earn a total of $48,000 for schools and school districts across the state.

Thanks to Senator Mark Harris for completing this competition, the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health, Inc. awarded Thirkill Elementary with a $1000.00 foundation grant to promote physical activity among their students.

Thirkill Elementary thanks the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation of Health for their generous donation and Senator Mark Harris for walking for the students at Thirkill
