Lady Cowboys end season

Myken Rindlisbaker plays defense at the top of the key during the game against Rockland.

NORTH GEM – After a great season in which the Lady Grizzlies compiled a 11-13 overall record, and a 9-6 record in the Rocky Mountain conference, their season ended with a loss to the Rockland Bulldogs, 25-38.

Their great play over the season afforded the girls a chance to move on past the districts.  During the first District matchup, the Lady Cowboys defeated Grace Lutheran, and then lost to Mackay.  This was followed by a win North Gem hosted over Sho-Ban.  The Lady Cowboys faced a “loser out” game against Rockland for third place, and came up a just short.

The team was coached by Ken Christensen and Assistant Coached by Stephinie Scott.  The team ended up fifth out of ten teams in the conference, and overall, Coach Ken Christensen felt that it was a positive season on the court.

“We beat a team we hadn’t beaten before in Grace Lutheran, for one thing.  We had a few returning seniors, and a lot of young girls who played great for us.”

North Gem’s team was made up of: Indyana Hatch, Hayden Corta, Sage Daniels, Katelyn Whiting, Myken Rindlisbaker, Kymerli Jensen, Mariah O’Brien, Shalyn Thompson, Dally Frandsen, Kaylin Jenkins, and Samantha Yost.
